About

This India-Wales connection was established in 2018 with the stupendous support of the British Council via the Imagining the Nation State Grant that grew into a fantastic partnership. Furthermore, the project won the India/UK Together, Season of Culture Program, which has made this show and project possible across the years. The showcase brings together the works of Imagining the Nation State Grant from phase 1 of this collaboration and the Communities of Choice open call from it’s phase 2. This collaboration and project has been made possible by the tremendous support of the British Council.

Chennai Photo Biennale Foundation

The CPB Foundation was formed in 2018 in response to the growing need for educational and collaboration opportunities in the field of visual art.

Drawing upon our own explorations across art and literature, we’re committed to bringing voices and ideas that have remained under-represented and outside the realm of contemporary art into our fold. Through workshops, exhibitions, and critical discourse, our attempts to promote photographic art as a vital channel of representation and self-expression are rooted in bringing together communities via socio-political and socio-cultural discussions.

India/UK Together, a Season of Culture, celebrates the friendship between the UK and India. Marking the 75th anniversary of India, this cultural exchange will showcase a vibrant programme of events across music, theatre, cinema, literature, fashion and visual arts.
